In 1971, the residents of several West Dallas neighborhoods united to open a community clinic in a portable building to serve a population disenfranchised from the economic and social services of the city due primarily to language and cultural differences.

Today
Today, LBU Community Clinic (LBU) boasts over 78,000 square feet of clinic space on the West Dallas, Pediatrics, LBU Oak Cliff, LBU South Oak Cliff, and our newest clinic LBU School-based clinic at T.D. Marshall.
This is a Federal Tort Claims Act (FTCA) deemed organization. This health center receives HHS funding and has Federal Public Health Service deemed status, including medical malpractice claims, for itself and its covered individuals.
